There is still time to form a Friend’s and Family Walk in your neightborhood!

April 11, 2010

At this time, the Promise Team is looking for coordinators to host Friends and Family (F&F) walks around the country.  The Foundation has dedicated May as Preeclampsia Awareness Month to honor mothers, their babies, friends, and families, but there are walks held in some areas after May due to weather or other events impacting the month of May.   To get started, you need to look for a walk site that does not require you to have insurance…..a local school, church, or maybe you have a walking path in your own neighborhood.    F&F walks are very informal and do not require a lot of planning, and the Promise Walk website makes it easy to receive donations towards your F&F walk.   We have F&F walks that range from a very small, intimate friends and family gathering to an event being just shy of a public walk.   It is up to you how involved you want your community to be this year.  F&F walks are a great way to get the community involved and are very important to the Foundation’s Promise Walk Success.
